LipoMeltX is not a treatment
LipoMeltX is a dietary supplement, not a medicine. It is not a weight-loss drug, not a GLP-1 medication and not a treatment for obesity, diabetes, insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome. If you are managing any of those, that is a matter for your clinician and your prescribed treatment — a supplement is not a substitute and should not be used to delay care.
Speak to a doctor first if any of these apply
- You take any prescription medication — berberine inhibits CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein and can raise blood levels of many drugs
- You take insulin or another glucose-lowering medicine — the effects can add up
- You are pregnant or nursing — berberine is not recommended in either, and must never be given to infants
- You are under 18
- You have liver or kidney disease
- You have surgery scheduled
- You are managing diabetes, and would be counting the gummy's carbohydrate
Dietary supplements are regulated differently
In the United States, dietary supplements are not subject to the pre-market approval process that applies to pharmaceutical drugs. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements for safety or effectiveness before they are sold. Any badge or wording suggesting a supplement is "FDA approved" is inaccurate. What a manufacturer can legitimately say is that a product is made in an FDA-registered facility — a statement about the premises, not about the product. The same goes for "GMP certified": it describes how the facility operates, not whether the formula works.
